A WIDER COMPOSITION
A double-breasted jacket draws architecture across the torso. Its overlapping front, paired button columns and peak-lapel direction create a wider, more deliberate reading than a single-breasted form.
That presence does not have to become bulk. Button placement, jacket length and lapel scale determine whether the front looks controlled or crowded.
THE BUTTON FIELD
Six buttons are not six decorations. They create a visual field. Raise that field and the torso can appear shorter; lower it and the upper body may feel longer. Move the columns and the entire relationship between chest and waist changes.
PRESENCE, NOT COSTUME
The form already carries authority. It needs less performance from everything around it. Quiet cloth, clean trousers and an unforced stance allow the geometry to speak without turning the wearer into a character.
